MAHLE and Volytica speed up statistical diagnostics for HV batteries
Volytica will present its continuous battery diagnostics solution, consisting of the E-CHARGE 20 charger and E-HEALTH Charge system, developed with MAHLE Aftermarket, at the IT-TRANS event in Karlsruhe, Germany.
The diagnostics solution delivers valuable information on the health and performance of a high-voltage battery during the charging process. With a time of 15 minutes or less, E-HEALTH Charge is currently the fastest statistical battery diagnosis on the market, according to its manufacturer.
The diagnostics system consists of the E-CHARGE 20 battery charger and the E-HEALTH app, combining charging and diagnostics in a single operation. The application is vehicle and manufacturer-independent. E-HEALTH Charge can also be used purely as a DC charger.
The cooperation with Volytica is especially important for evaluating the data collected by the charger and the on-board diagnostics interface. The data is collected in a secure cloud storage system, categorised in relation to previously recorded batteries of the same type and compared with the original capacity of the vehicle model. Shortly afterwards, a final report is provided via email.
“The partnership with MAHLE marks a decisive step towards greater transparency in the field of electromobility. With our innovative battery diagnostics solution, we are not only helping to provide
lease returns with a fair valuation, but also making the used-car market for electric vehicles more transparent,” says Claudius Jehle, founder and CEO of volytica diagnostics.
“Our motto ‘Acceptance through Transparency’ is at the heart of this initiative, which not only benefits buyers and sellers, but also promotes the acceptance and spread of electric mobility. In addition, we are making a significant contribution to environmental protection by saving up to two million tons of batteries from premature retirement every year and extending their service life by an average of five years through second-life applications.”
At this year’s IT-TRANS, Volytica will present its solution at Stand S16 in the DM Arena and as part of the UITP Guided Tour on May 15.
