PIONIX has created BaseCamp, built on the open-source EVerest framework, a robust and future-ready operating system that simplifies charger development while ensuring compatibility with the latest industry standards.

BaseCamp offers a suite of advanced developer tools, designed to facilitate rapid integration and efficient testing. With comprehensive simulation environments and robust debugging, developers can quickly prototype, validate and deploy their solutions.

“EV charging should no longer be about reinventing the wheel,” said Marco Möller, CEO and co-founder of PIONIX. “BaseCamp provides a stable, future-proof foundation that allows manufacturers to focus on delivering a seamless charging experience.”

BaseCamp offers a standardised, hardware-agnostic software stack, designed to simplify development and ensure compatibility across a wide range of charging protocols, including OCPP 1.6/2.0.1 and ISO 15118-2/-20. Security is a priority for PONIX, with measures such as enabling X.509 PKI signed updates, secure communication, TPM integration and OTA updates.

Subscribers gain access to the PIONIX Cloud, a monitoring and debugging platform.

As the initiator of the EVerest project, which is part of Linux Foundation Energy, PIONIX contributes to the development of a modular framework for charging technology.
