Cupra has unveiled its first all-electric SUV coupe, the Tavascan, to be launched in 2024.

The Tavascan is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, and will be available with two power outputs: 286 PS (210 kW) and 340 PS.

The less powerful version has a single 286 bhp motor and a WLTP range of about 341 miles, while the more powerful version, the VZ, adds dual-motor all-wheel drive and can reach 31 mph in 2.4 seconds (0-62 mph in 5.6 seconds). It has a range of about 321 miles.

Both use the same 77 kWh battery that can be charged from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes using a 135 kW charging point. Charging for an additional 62 miles of range takes about 7 minutes.

The Tavascan will be produced at the Volkswagen Group’s Anhui factory in China, and will have a yearly sales target of more than 70,000 cars.
